Belle – RIP (9/21/20-2/4/21)
Belle was one of our rescue horses. She was a beautiful 15 y/o registered, Bay, Standardbred mare, approx. 16.3 hands tall. She was pulled from a kill buyer at New Holland auction on September 21,2020 after she endured a horrific trauma on the livestock trailer that transported her to the auction. When we found her she was underweight, and had horrible burn wounds to the right side of her body and deep cuts to the inside of both right legs. She was very weak and could barely walk to the trailer.
On February 4th, we had to say goodbye to Belle at New Bolton after discovering that she had a severe stifle injury caused by her trauma that occurred in September. The Vet had said her condition had worsened and could not be cured.
Although Belle was at the rescue farm for a short period of time, she was automatically loved by all who encountered her, and she changed many lives by showing others love regardless of her pain, scars, and trauma.
You will always be remembered and loved Belle!
Oats, a former carriage horse in Lancaster was rescued from a kill pen after his owner sent him to auction. He has completed quarantine, gained weight and is 100% well again and ready for his new 4ever home. He is a 27 y/o, registered, dark bay, Standardbred geld. Approx. 15.2 hands tall. He is broke to ride and drive and considered to be kid safe/beginner safe. Not spooky. Just a good ole boy with excellent ground manners as well.
