Who We Are
Our Founder: Diane Gruber-Strickland
As long as I can remember, I’ve always had a vision and a desire to start a non-profit. The desire being very strong in the area of equine rescue, and at the same time helping at-risk, troubled youth. I never gave up on that vision or purpose, and in May of 2017 I traveled to Bend, Oregon to attend one of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch’s Information Clinics. It was here that I not only found the encouragement to move forward with my vision, but also tons of emotional support, valuable tools and information (from Troy and Kim Meeder & their staff) to put my vision into action.
With loads of encouragement from friends and family, that vision became a reality Spring of 2018 with the formation of our non-profit/501c3 called “Hope’s Haven Rescue & Youth Camp”. Within this mentorship program, we strive to pair a rescue horse with a child of similar background, whether it be abuse, neglect or other form of emotional/physical trauma.
Another strong desire I’ve had was to write a book detailing the stories of the horses we’ve rescued and the children that have had their lives positively impacted through our mentorship program. To date, this book titled, “Hope Heals” has been published & is available for purchase in E-book and hardcopy on-line through Amazon.com; Wal.mart; and Barnes & Noble.
