A girl with light brown hair tied back with a red scrunchie, wearing a black T-shirt with red hearts, navy pants, and white sneakers, standing next to a brown horse with a white blaze on its face, in a sandy outdoor enclosure with metal fencing and a background of houses, trees, and a colorful school bus.

It is our belief that horses can help heal the broken soul.

By pairing horses with children who have experienced conflict or trauma, we believe healing can take place.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV).

“Come to me all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

OUR 4 CORNERSTONES

  • A side-by-side comparison of two horses, one on the left and one on the right. The left horse is a light brown or tan color with a white mark on its forehead, standing on a dirt or muddy ground in a fenced area. The right horse is darker brown or chestnut with a darker mane, standing on green grass in a sunny outdoor setting.

    RESCUE EQUINE

Our rescued horses are key in our mentorship program as they have experienced similar trauma and difficulties as the children. We often call them ‘silent equine counselors.’ Pictured above, is Hope before and after being rescued.

  • Two women and a girl standing next to a brown horse with a white mane inside a wooden stable. The woman on the left wears a neon green shirt, and the girl on the right wears a purple shirt. The women and girl are smiling, hugging the horse, and looking at the camera.

    MENTOR CHILDREN

Our mentor leaders select specific activities to meet the participant’s needs. Our goal is to give hope and healing that will make an impact in their lives.

  • A person holds a small, light gray heart-shaped stone with the word 'Hope' engraved on it, fingers gently grasping the stone.

    RESTORE HOPE

Many of our youth have experienced difficulty and trauma. Our sessions give space for healing to take place.

  • A brown horse is lying on green grass, rolling onto its back with its legs in the air, in a field surrounded by a wire fence and trees in the background.

    REHOME EQUINE TO FOREVER HOMES

For horses that do not qualify for the mentorship program, we adopt them out through contract to a forever home.

Hope’s Haven Youth Ranch is a faith based, nonprofit that seeks hope and healing for both children and horses living with trauma. Our six week program can be quite transformative and impacts both the lives of the mentors and those participating in the program.

Contact us about registering your child for a session, or if you feel led to get involved.

One of the new mentors who had seen him only a couple of weeks was asked what she saw when she watched him there and she said "Joy".  I got tears in my eyes when I heard that because that is a term that none of us would have ever have associated with him before unfortunately. To see him experience such "JOY" every week and be so excited to come to Hope's Haven every time has been indescribable and my family and I are so grateful for all of the positive experiences that both of my grandchildren have experienced through this wonderful program at Hope's Haven.”
